Values and Responsibility

The personal knowledge and understanding which develops between artist and client bring unique if intangible satisfactions. Such values are inevitably lost in anonymous mass-manufacturing and impersonal commerce. These values may be seen as deeply old-fashioned, but they are also deeply human.

The social and environmental consequences of our collective abandonment of these values are both extensive and penetrating. Although these consequences have effects worldwide, their origins are not well understood.

Each of us is a daily contributor to the world-wide society which we collectively create, neglect, or destroy. Therefore we should each recognise that we have some individual responsibility for the social and environmental results of our collective actions.
