These handpainted fireplace tiles were made for a large, well-lit bedroom which needed some strong colour and a bold symmetrical design for its classical fireplace.

Fireplace tiles:
The distinctive vertical detailing in the mantelpiece is echoed in the groups of birch trunks which frame the distant 'oriental' landscape view.
For this project underglaze and onglaze ceramic colours were applied to 6-inch dust-pressed ceramic tiles.
